Gameday Brats
10 brats
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 10 bratwursts
- 3 medium sweet onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 12 ounces lager beer
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Brown bratwursts 2 to 3 minutes per side. To achieve browning, bratwursts may need to be browned in two batches. Transfer to the Nomad® 6- or 8-quart cooking pot and top with sliced onions.
Combine mustard, pepper, salt, smoked paprika, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Stir in both and beer. Pour mixture over brats and onions. Close cover. Cook on HIGH 3 hours or until onions are tender. Turn to WARM to hold up to 3 hours.
