Receptionist

National Presto, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances is looking for a Receptionist to join our team at our Company Headquarters located in Eau Claire, WI. In this position you will greet and assist guests, direct incoming phone calls, handle daily cash postings, and assist the customer service/order entry department by scanning in documents and tracking UPS/FedEx charges.

What you'll do:

  • Respectfully greet and assist guests
  • Follow security protocol (let visitors in, have them sign register, provide security badges as necessary)
  • Answer/direct incoming telephone calls
  • Cash posting includes:
    • Apply remittances to customer accounts
    • Prepare bank deposits
  • Scan and electronically file Customer Service/Order Entry and other company documents
  • Prepare spreadsheet for billable FedEx/UPS address change charges
  • Assist with various other Accounting duties as needed

What you bring:

  • Familiarity with basic office equipment, such as a multi-line phone system, computers printers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel

Test Lab Technician

National Presto, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances is looking for a talented Lab Testing Technician for the New Products Lab at our company headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

In this position you will perform tests on products and components, perform calculations, then record and analyze the results. You will also perform quality assurance inspection of pilot and production products, and assure the quality of replacement part components.

What you'll do:

  • Setting up and conducting tests, such as
    • Hydrostatic pressure tests
    • Testing strength of components
    • Tip over and impact stability of products
    • Durability and useful life of products
    • Functional performance of products
    • Performance compared to competitive products
    • Test to UL requirements per UL Safety Standards
  • Performing routine equipment calibration and maintaining calibration records
  • Interface with Engineers to insure that data is accurate and testing is sufficient
  • Write and issues reports on test results
  • Inspection/layout of Engineering Prototype Projects

What you bring:

  • Associate degree or technical training that includes courses in math, technical writing, physics, and electricity.
  • One or more years’ experience in a lab setting, conducting tests and writing technical reports
  • Familiar with test equipment operation and industry specific tests
  • Knowledge of operating torque and force
  • Knowledge of test equipment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Customer Service Representative

National Presto Industries, Inc. is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our team! This is a Monday through Friday position, from 8am to 4:30pm - No nights, no weekends, and no holidays. We are looking for someone with a passion for helping others, who knows their way around a kitchen, and has a knack for problem solving.
 
In this role you will:
·         Become familiar with Presto® products and parts
·         Handle customer orders for products and parts
·         Troubleshoot and resolving customer issues or complaints
·         Educate customers on use of Presto® products
·         Handle warranty issues
·         Data entry of customer orders and call notes.
·         Work with Excel to record data and generate spreadsheets
 
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a phone-based customer service environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be computer savvy. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience cooking, canning, or using Presto® Appliances is an advantage.

Electronics Engineer

National Presto, Inc., located in Eau Claire, WI, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances, is looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our team. The electronics (a.k.a., electrical) engineer is responsible for designing, verifying/validating designs, sourcing and collaborating with manufacturers/suppliers, developing specifications and quality standards for integrated electronic/electrical systems within products ranging from small consumer appliances to IoT commercial safety devices.  The position works closely with product development engineers, industrial designers, programmers, and suppliers to ensure product meets customer expectations and company objectives.

What you bring:

  • Intermediate skill level with electrical CAD, schematic design, circuit layout / PCBA design, and integration within enclosure often with user interface
  • Understanding and ability to incorporate various forms of wireless communication systems into consumer products (i.e., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, infrared, LoRaWAN, Cellular, etc.) including antenna selection/design and integration into IoT
  • Expert understanding of RF/EMC/EMI related technology and equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers, RF Amplifiers, and test (semi-anechoic) chambers
  • Knowledge of various display types (i.e., LCD, LED, capacitive touch, dot matrix, etc.)  
  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing methods, relative costs, and quality control practices
  • Experience with general tools, instruments, measurement techniques and processes
  • Excellent judgment, decision making, and critical thinking skills
  • Creative and scientific problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with PCs and various Windows-based programs including the following: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), EasyEDA or similar for PCBA design, SOLIDWORKS 3D/2D CAD for mechanical modeling/drafting, and SOLIDWORKS PDM for file management and revision control.
  • BSEE or equivalent

What you will do:

  • Create the engineering and manufacturing specifications for electrical / electronic systems within consumer products
  • Develop verification and validation plans, monitor progress, analyze results, and recommend/implement improvements based on these results for new and current products
  • Utilize electrical CAD to develop schematics, design PCBA’s (including components, traces, silk screen, etc.), create/manage BOM(s), simulate functionality, etc.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering to verify all wire routing, electrical connections, fit, function, DFM, and DFQ
  • Provide definition and direction in procurement of prototypes, models, and samples
  • Interpret and communicate technical information and project status
  • Lead and coordinate project activities with internal and external resources
  • Determine testing requirements regarding agency certifications, performance, reliability and durability
  • Establish critical to quality (CTQ) criteria for QC and QA inspections
  • Conduct preliminary patent searches, analyze existing patents and publications, and provide support for patent filing and IP protection

A  Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years’ experience in electric/electronic engineering is required. The ideal candidate for this positon will enjoy using their technical and engineering knowledge to assist with the development of innovative consumer products and hands-on product experimentation. An understanding of basic engineering fundamentals, such as heat transfer, materials, and mechanics is a must. This position includes occasional extended travel (2-3 weeks), both domestic and abroad, approximately 1 to 2 times per year.
