EDI Coordinator/Systems Operator

 

National Presto, Inc., located in Eau Claire, WI, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances, is looking for an EDI Coordinator/Systems Operator to join our Information Services (IS) department. The EDI Coordinator manages Trusted Link EDI software and grows EDI client base while providing user support for various PRMS modules, for PCs, and the AS/400.  This position also assists with computer room systems operations.

What you bring:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is preferred.
•    At least 2 years’ experience with PRMS ERP Software. 
•    Experience with Clever Path Report Builder, AS/400, Label Matrix and Mark Magic Label Software, and ROBOT scheduling software.

What you will do:

•    Maintain Trusted Link EDI software
•    Add new trading partners to EDI environment, creating new setups and Maps/File Definitions
•    Trouble-shoot EDI communication issues, working with network providers
•    Print reports/shipping paperwork and labels/AP checks/timecards
•    Rotate weekly backup tapes and prepare tapes for off-site storage
•    Perform Monthly system close process (non-business hours)
•    Handle quarterly system saves and re-boots (non-business hours)
•    Trouble-shoot printer issues/Setup service calls as needed

Electronics Engineer

National Presto, Inc., located in Eau Claire, WI, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances, is looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our team. The electronics (a.k.a., electrical) engineer is responsible for designing, verifying/validating designs, sourcing and collaborating with manufacturers/suppliers, developing specifications and quality standards for integrated electronic/electrical systems within products ranging from small consumer appliances to IoT commercial safety devices.  The position works closely with product development engineers, industrial designers, programmers, and suppliers to ensure product meets customer expectations and company objectives.

What you bring:

  • Intermediate skill level with electrical CAD, schematic design, circuit layout / PCBA design, and integration within enclosure often with user interface
  • Understanding and ability to incorporate various forms of wireless communication systems into consumer products (i.e., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, infrared, LoRaWAN, Cellular, etc.) including antenna selection/design and integration into IoT
  • Expert understanding of RF/EMC/EMI related technology and equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers, RF Amplifiers, and test (semi-anechoic) chambers
  • Knowledge of various display types (i.e., LCD, LED, capacitive touch, dot matrix, etc.)  
  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing methods, relative costs, and quality control practices
  • Experience with general tools, instruments, measurement techniques and processes
  • Excellent judgment, decision making, and critical thinking skills
  • Creative and scientific problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with PCs and various Windows-based programs including the following: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), EasyEDA or similar for PCBA design, SOLIDWORKS 3D/2D CAD for mechanical modeling/drafting, and SOLIDWORKS PDM for file management and revision control.
  • BSEE or equivalent

What you will do:

  • Create the engineering and manufacturing specifications for electrical / electronic systems within consumer products
  • Develop verification and validation plans, monitor progress, analyze results, and recommend/implement improvements based on these results for new and current products
  • Utilize electrical CAD to develop schematics, design PCBA’s (including components, traces, silk screen, etc.), create/manage BOM(s), simulate functionality, etc.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering to verify all wire routing, electrical connections, fit, function, DFM, and DFQ
  • Provide definition and direction in procurement of prototypes, models, and samples
  • Interpret and communicate technical information and project status
  • Lead and coordinate project activities with internal and external resources
  • Determine testing requirements regarding agency certifications, performance, reliability and durability
  • Establish critical to quality (CTQ) criteria for QC and QA inspections
  • Conduct preliminary patent searches, analyze existing patents and publications, and provide support for patent filing and IP protection

A  Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years’ experience in electric/electronic engineering is required. The ideal candidate for this positon will enjoy using their technical and engineering knowledge to assist with the development of innovative consumer products and hands-on product experimentation. An understanding of basic engineering fundamentals, such as heat transfer, materials, and mechanics is a must. This position includes occasional extended travel (2-3 weeks), both domestic and abroad, approximately 1 to 2 times per year.

Test Kitchen Specialist

National Presto, Inc., located in Eau Claire, WI, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances, is looking for a Test Kitchen Specialist to join our team. The Test Kitchen Specialist is responsible for assessing and evaluating Presto prototype, off tool, pilot, and production appliances.

What you will do:

  • Test, assess, and evaluate prototype, off tool, pilot and production appliances/products based on protocol.
  • Test, assess, and evaluate competitive appliances/products based on protocol.      
  • Document results of testing, and develop reports for Engineering/Sales/New Products committee.       
  • Interact via phone and/or email with consumers to provide assistance for canning and to trouble shoot when Customer Service Department is not able to assist. 
  • Research and test solutions for consumer inquiries.
  • Test consumer appliance returns as requested by Lab Supervisor
  • Develop, update, revise and test recipes for inclusion in instruction/recipe manuals and on Presto website.
  • Support Advertising department functions as requested; food photography, instructions manuals, print and video support materials.
  • Determine groceries required for testing, compile shopping list and coordinate pick-up/delivery with courier.
  • Work with food, kitchen utensils, portable and large electrical appliances, pressure vessels, and test equipment.
  • Assist with all facets of the department operation as required.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of Test Kitchen.  
  • Assist with training Customer Service Representatives on new products
  • Represent company by exhibiting at National Extension Assoc of Family and Consumer Sciences annual meeting.  Assist in preplanning exhibit, setting up and dismantling the exhibit booth, and interacting with meeting attendees.

Qualified candidates will be proficient with Microsoft office software and be able to operate standard office equipment, such as phones, computers, and printers. Prior experience cooking using a range of kitchen appliances, such as skillets, griddles, deep fryers, pressure cookers, and canners is required, as is experience using food testing equipment (temperature gauges, scales, times, etc.). The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills. Food Safety knowledge is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science, Food and Nutrition, Food Science, or similar is preferred.

Digital Marketing Manager


National Presto, Inc., located in Eau Claire, WI, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances, is looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to join our team. National Presto has been manufacturing high-quality small household appliances for 115 years.
 
The Digital Marketing Manager will create, develop and perfect digital marketing content and manage all aspects of the implementation and evaluation of digital marketing strategies, including digital advertising and social media campaigns. They will also create budgets for digital marketing initiatives, track return on investment (ROI) and ensure that such initiatives remain within budget. This position plays a pivotal role in growing our customer base and improving consumer experience.
 
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
·         Map out how digital assets will be created, utilized and optimized to achieve marketing goals and objectives
·         Perform all aspects of creating digital content, including video and audio recording, production and editing, as well as writing scripts, setting up and tearing down cameras, lighting, microphones and props
·         Develop and execute digital media strategies, including negotiating and acquiring advertising space across digital media platforms, monitoring, optimizing, and reporting on campaign performance and managing budgets
·         Collaborate with others in creating and publishing social media marketing campaigns
·         Oversee and be responsible for tracking of budgets, social media analytics, and ROI for digital advertising and social media marketing campaigns
·         Collaborate with employees in the creation of other advertising materials, packaging, websites, sales materials, and product instructions
·         Analyze the short-term and long-term needs of the company’s digital advertising and social media marketing strategies and create reports for the management and executive teams that outline any recommended changes to the digital marketing plans
 
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in creating digital advertising and social media campaigns, professional video editing/producing environment demonstrating competence in all areas of video production, managing a team of employees, and a degree in marketing communications or related field. Strong copywriting, script writing skills, video, photo shooting, and editing skills are essential. Expert knowledge in text and graphic creation, lighting setup, audio/voice-over recording, use of stock footage and integration of all video, graphic and audio aspects during post-production.

Logistics Manager

National Presto, Inc., located in Eau Claire, WI, a nationally recognized manufacturer of small household appliances, is looking for a Logistics Manager to lead domestics and international supply chain functions.
 
In this position, you would be responsible for all corporate logistics matters associated with the procurement of products from international locations and transporting to warehouses in the United States, along with overseeing the warehouse distribution operations. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
 
·         Coordinating product shipments to the United States, and all activities related to United States Customs.
·         Conducting annual freight negotiations with ocean freight vendors.
·         Reviewing budgets and expenditures, including purchasing and maintenance of equipment, building maintenance and position requisitions for warehousing facilities. 
·         Negotiate contracts, purchases, and leases.
·         Overseeing monthly production scheduling meetings, and the taking, publishing, and distribution of meeting minutes.
·         Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics into company process.
·         Prepare reports for meetings with the Board of Directors recapping the past year’s activities, expenses, and projections for the upcoming year.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience managing a team of employees, experience in logistics and facilities operations, and a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are a must, as is past experience with importing products and working with US customs. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
