Deep Fried Green Beans
- Vegetable oil for frying*
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons yellow corn meal
- 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oil in Presto® electric deep fryer. If using an adjustable thermostat deep fryer, set at 375°.
Steam green beans for 4 minutes. Transfer to bowl and cover with cold water. Drain and pat dry. In a small bowl beat milk and egg. In another shallow bowl combine flour, corn meal, salt and pepper. Toss green beans in flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip green beans in milk/egg mixture and then back into the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
Fry green beans until golden brown and crispy, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm with sauce of choice.
