Deep Fried Cheesy Ravioli
- 1 package (about 25 pieces) frozen cheese ravioli
- Vegetable oil for frying*
- 3 cups Italian-style bread crumbs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Parsley, finely chopped for garnish
- Marinara sauce
Spread ravioli in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to thaw slightly, about 1 hour.
Preheat oil in Presto® Electric Deep Fryer. If using an adjustable thermostat deep fryer, set at 375°. Meanwhile, put bread crumbs in a shallow bowl and set aside. Pour buttermilk into a separate shallow bowl. Place ravioli, several pieces at a time, in the buttermilk. Coat completely. Remove one at a time, allowing the excess buttermilk to run off into the bowl. Dredge in bread crumbs, coating evenly. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until there are enough pieces to fry a small batch.
Carefully place ravioli into hot oil. Do not crowd fryer. Fry until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove and drain on paper towels. Fried ravioli may be held in a 300°F oven while remainder are fried.
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and parsley. Serve with warmed marinara sauce for dipping.
*Reference your deep fryer instruction folder for the amount of oil needed.
