Chocolate Waffles
4 waffles
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk milk, eggs, oil, and vanilla into dry ingredients. Let batter rest 5 minutes. Preheat FlipSide® waffle maker. Spray both waffle grids with nonstick spray. Pour 1 cup batter onto the center of the bottom grid. Close top and flip waffle maker. Bake 4 to 4 1/2 minutes. Remove and top as desired.
Variation: Chocolate cake mix (15-ounce) can be substituted for Chocolate Waffles recipe. Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Yield may vary depending on mix used.
