Christmas Stuffed Waffle

About 4 stuffed waffles
  • Sweet Dessert Waffle Batter (see recipe below)
  • Filling per waffle
  • 1 ounce fudge or chocolate bar (about 1/4 cup), broken into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon crushed candy cane (about one 5-inch candy cane)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pecans

Prepare waffle batter as directed. Preheat Stuffler® stuffed waffle maker with waffle tongs in unit for 10 minutes.

Spread about 1/3 cup batter into waffle maker so bottom grids and waffle divider are thinly but completely covered. Scatter fudge, candy cane, and chopped pecan pieces onto batter leaving a  thin margin around edge. Spread additional batter over filling until it reaches the top of the square projections on the waffle tongs. Close waffle maker and flip. Cook for 7 to 8 minutes. Remove stuffed waffle to plate.  

Sweet Dessert Waffle Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk milk, eggs, oil, vanilla, and almond extract in a medium bowl. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients. Whisk just until flour mixture is thoroughly moistened.
