Each tool is designed with a comfortable soft-grip handle and ergonomic features specific to the canning process. The largest is the stainless-steel blanching basket, designed to fit most standard kitchen pots. Blanching is recommended for safe food preservation in many canning and freezing recipes. Blanching is also useful to help release the skins of produce, such as tomatoes and peaches, for easy peeling.
Once you’re ready to begin filling the jars, the canning funnel and wide scoop ladle help to make a quick and clean transfer of food and liquid to the jars. Inner and outer collars on the funnel help keep jar rims and countertops clean, while fitting on both regular and wide mouth jars. The deluxe canning funnel also offers headspace measurements on both the inner and outer collars for a precise fill. Headspace is the space between the food/liquid and the lid. This measurement is important because it helps the jar to seal properly.
Whether moving hot jars before processing or after, the jar lifter tool helps you transfer jars easily and safely in and out of your canner. This flexible, easy-grasp jar lifter fits over the tops of both types of jars for a secure hold. With simple one-handed operation, its spring-loaded construction lets you easily clamp around the threads on the neck of the jar. Use this tool for a no-slip grip on your jars, every time!
The final piece to this premium canning kit is a multi-function tool that helps ensure safe canning. The bubble remover/magnetic lid lifter/water measure tool has a flat end with a flexible tip that fits in the contours of the jar to easily release air bubbles trapped between pieces of food. On the other end of the tool is a magnetic base that lifts clean lids to the tops of jars without having to handle them. Just lift, place, and screw the band onto the jar—fingertip tight. Lastly, the flat end of the utensil includes a 1-inch measure, which comes in handy for verifying 
the water level when canning with the boiling water method.
