Vanilla Cream French Toast

  • 8 (1-inch) slices Challah, day old
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil
  • Powdered sugar or maple syrup, as desired

In a shallow bowl whisk milk and eggs; mix in sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Heat Presto® Electric Skillet at 350°. Brush skillet cooking surface with a light coating of vegetable oil. Dip slices, one at a time into the milk mixture, coating both sides of bread generously with mixture. Cook slices until golden, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes per side. Remove French toast and keep warm until all slices have been cooked. Serve with desired topping.

Makes 4 servings

Preparation Tip: Substitute brioche or Italian bread, if desired.
